Launched in 2020, Insight Region
® is the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia’s center for community research. It is a growing hub for reliable, well-researched, and actionable data and analyses on issues critical to the region. Shape of the Region
The Shape of the Region conference, a half-day conference held in March each year, is presented in partnership with regional organizations and serves as a platform to discuss and evaluate issues of economic mobility, income inequality, and increased opportunity for our region.

Innovation Breakfasts
Innovation Breakfasts are held two times per year and draw attendees from all sectors of the Northern Virginia region, including government and elected officials, business leaders, and nonprofit/foundation leaders. Registered guests join us for a continental breakfast and opportunity for community dialogue, education and networking. The series introduces new ideas to address issues facing our region and explores the role that innovation and philanthropy can play in addressing them.

Raise the Region Gala
The Raise the Region Gala is our annual mission-critical fundraiser that enables the Community Foundation to advance equity throughout the region, helping build a community that works for everyone. Held in the fall, it is a black-tie gathering of more than 600 business and community leaders that features the presentation of the Community Leadership Award for outstanding service and commitment to Northern Virginia, the longest standing award of its kind. Guests will enjoy a seated dinner, raffle, and live and silent auctions that include luxury gifts and getaways.
