Ellsworth Weil Family Fund for Northern Virginia

Established: April 10, 2017

The Ellsworth Weil Family Fund for Northern Virginia was established in 2017 by President and CEO of the Community Foundation Eileen Ellsworth and her husband Bob Weil for the sole purpose of supporting the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia’s Permanent Fund, an unrestricted endowment at the Community Foundation.

Contributions to this fund will support the Foundation’s discretionary grantmaking programs through our Community Investment Fund cycle, and will support grantmaking to organizations serving children and youth, educational programs, aging populations, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, our region’s military families, as well as those working in the arts and environment fields. This unrestricted endowment will give the Community Foundation – today and decades into the future – the ability to fund areas where the need is greatest, or to fund needs that we can’t even imagine today.

Your gifts today, in 2023, will honor Eileen Ellsworth and her entire family and support the Permanent Fund: truly the greatest legacy of her time at the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia.
