The 1863 Fund
Established: February 3, 2019
Gilbert’s Corner, Aldie, Middleburg, Upperville…This area along Rt. 50 in Loudoun County played a pivotal role in the story of America. In the summer of 1863 three successive battles were fought in this area in the ramp up to Gettysburg. Today NOVA Parks has assembled 5 historic parks in this area that help tell this story to visitors, promoting tourism through conservation. The 1863 Fund is an endowment to support these historic parks and more that may come.

Battle of Middleburg/Mt. Defiance Historic Park
Battle of Upperville/Goose Creek Bridge Historic Park
