Community Foundation’s Environment Fund Reaches $1 Million for Northern Virginia’s Natural Resources

Fairfax, VA (September 3, 2024) – Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia’s Environment Fund reached a $1 million endowment milestone last month. This is the first issue area focused fund at the Community Foundation to reach this mark.

Since 2018 inception, the Environment Fund has granted nearly $400,000 to organizations whose work aligns with the Fund’s mission: to protect, restore and improve the natural environment of Northern Virginia, thereby enhancing the health and quality of life of its citizens and the economy of the region. Past recipients include EcoAction Arlington, Fairfax County Public Schools, NOVA Outside, and more.
